Easy Cranberry Sauce Recipe
You may have got all the trimmings ready for Thanksgiving, from the stuffing to the potatoes to the green beans. What many forget is the cranberry sauce. Sure, it's easier to buy a jar from the store, but it never tastes quite the same as homemade sauce. This recipe shows you a quick and easy way to make delicious and flavorful cranberry sauce that completes any Thanksgiving table!
Ingredients - 3 cups cranberries (about 1 package)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 orange, juiced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 cinnamon stick
Directions - Rinse cranberries.
- Juice lemon and orange.
- In a saucepan combine the cranberries, sugar, juice, and water, and bring to a boil. Turn heat down to medium and simmer for 5 minutes (until the skins have broken.) The mixture will still look quite watery, this is completely normal.
- Add the cinnamon stick to let the sweet flavor simmer.
- Transfer to a serving dish, and chill. The cranberry sauce will thicken up as it cools.
